Sweet Baby-Themed Cupcakes

Hi sweeties.....

Owhh...aren't they darlings?  I was so beat up when I came up with these cupcakes...my friend Haneem was going to pick up the cupcakes at 10 in the morning and the night before, I just could not get myself together anymore.  I told my husband that I was going to sleep.  I guess he was a bit worried that I might not finish them on time but I set my mind clock that I'm going to wake up at 4 to finish them. When you're so tired, you just can't think straight anymore and I guess that's what happened to me.  So, I slept it off and I did wake up at 4 a.m.!

I found some cute cupcakes when I googled for ideas last time and I just had to do the babies expressions.  These cupcakes were for Faiz who just turned 1.  He loves gadgets and his favourite is his mummy's calculator.  A baby who loves calculators...hhmmm...son, I think when you grow up, you will be a millionaire! Ameen....mudah-mudahan ye Faiz...owh I forgot, your mummy wants you to be a military doctor.  See? We all moms are like that...haha.

Here are the pictures that my husband took.  You can tell right?
He loves the cute cakes that's why he took many many many pictures...love you honey.
My rubber ducky in bubbles.

Okay, that's it for this time..I'll see you soon ya...bye.

Sweet Cooking Theme Cupcakes...

Hello all of you sweet people out there.  I am so happy to show you my latest cupcakes.  Like what you see? Love doing it too.  I started a week early with all those cute cooking items.  The week before, I went shopping and I ran across a shop selling miniature porcelain figures and I saw a small kettle and rice cooker. When I got home, I can't start fast enough.  I went straight to doing the kettle and it came out so cute.  Then, I slowly did the others in front of the TV watching Julia Roberts in My Best Friend's Wedding.  I love Julia Roberts, don't you?

Owh..see? Too excited to tell you about it, I forgot to mention that these cupcakes were for my FB friend Hidayah.  It was for her mother's birthday.  As usual, most of my customers left everything to my imagination so, I came up with these and thank God, she loves them.

My dear sugar pie honey bun..a.k.a my husband, loves the cupcakes too.  That is why he took sooo.. many pictures of the cupcakes and I think his favourite is the pan and the sunny side up egg.  He loves eggs.  The mortar and pestle was his idea.  He is always pushing me to do better each time and because of him, I am getting better.  Thanks darling.  I'm glad you're always with me because I know that I did not become who I am today on my own.  I love you.  Now I'm sappy....

Here's a tip on how to give shine to your figurines...I used piping jelly that I diluted with a bit of water.  That is why the egg looks shiny like it is really cooked in oil.  You know, if you really have the patience and interest, you can also do it.  It is really quite easy.  Well I hope you enjoy reading and looking at all the pictures and for other bakers out there, I hope my figurines and designs inspire you to do a better one.  Till we meet again, bye.

Sweet Cupcake

Hi there........

Hhmmm...cupcakes and romance novels...what a nice way to relax.  I need it this week.  A lot had happened and a good book is just what I needed.  My  best friend's father, passed away this week. You remember Zue, the one that climbed to the top of Mt. Kinabalu?  He died of asthma and mostly because of old age.  She was in Kedah when he was admitted.  She was an umpire for a National level netball game.  She is a strong and very active woman but when it comes to the people that she loves, she crumbled....I was so sad and still am for her.  The first thing she did when she saw me after the funeral was hug me and cried..it was heartbreaking to see her like that.  I want her to be happy always and I pray that she will.  Things like this reminds me to my own Papa that recently I realized had been gone for three years.  How time flies....it makes me miss him even more.

This same week, I was also quite busy with baking and I baked this vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream for Lin, my friend who ordered the nurse cupcakes.  She just wanted to take something back to her hometown.  I think she was going home to see her mom so, she wanted lime green and sky blue for her mom.

My best friend lost her father this week and god have a way to lighten up my day because of my sadness by giving me a new nephew.  My sister gave birth to a 2.5 kg baby boy on Saturday and I can't wait to see him.  He is such a cutie pie...my sister named him Rayyan Miqail and I think that it is strong and suited him because he is a first born.  He is my 15th nephew and I have another 5 nieces...and I like it.  When we all gather, we are like The Brady Bunch times 3...hahaha.  And I think I have a mission this week.  To make Zue smile....I know it takes time to heal and I'm giving her time but in the mean time, she's going to smile...wish me luck!  See you...

Sweet Nurse Cupcake

Hello everyone...

Congratulation Pika!  You're a nurse, and I hope you will be a good one.  Please..please don't be the one that came from nightmares...hihihi..just joking.  Actually I said that from experience...one that I don't care to repeat. I'm sure many had the same experience.

Well anyway, these vanilla cupcakes are for Pika who graduated from a Nurse's College recently.  Her friend, Lin whom I often met during meetings and courses ordered them for her.

I had a great time laughing and experimenting while doing the `tools' for these cupcakes.  I did a pink thermometer which I wish I had and pink blood pressure checker (do we call it checker?) but mine is white.  (Yes, I have one at home because I have hypertension because of my hyperthyroid.).  My son had never seen me did cupcakes frosting using buttercream and you know what he said? `Ibu...why cincai?'  To him that is 'cincai'. 'Cincai' (pronounce as "chin-chie") means I'm doing a lousy job...my heart missed a beat and I said, `What?cincai?'...haha.  He likes fondant better he said. What a critique he is...but it is good to know that they care and will be very vocal if I'm not doing a perfect and high standard job..thanks sweetie, I appreciate it.

I hope you like it and I will see you very soon.  Bye..

Sweet Roses Cupcakes

Good evening,

I hope all of you are in good health and happy as always.  I had a very busy week baking but it was all worth it.  On Thursday, I baked three Caramel Rainbow Cakes, a Red Velvet and these cute 16 fondant decorated cupcakes for Faiza who celebrated her birthday yesterday.  I made ribbon roses and let them set for 2 days.  The cake was Vanilla Butter cake and it was very delicious.  I haven't had creamy buttercake for quite some time that I made another batch for myself and kids.  Aiman loved them.  He even brought some to school for his friends.

Do you like the colour?  They're pastel...well, I'm a girly girl and Faiza is a girly girl too so, we love pastel colours.  I love what I do and when they collect the cake and told me that they loved it, they made my day. Usually when they ate the cake they'll call me and tell me that the cake was delicious. That made my day too.  I'm so glad my customers love my cake and that they are willing to pay for my work. Thanks you guys, you're the best!

Enjoy the pictures, don't forget to leave comments, that will make my day too.  Love u all....see you soon.

Sweet Cuppies

Hello,

How are you doing? I hope everything and everyone is fine and happy.  I'm happy today and hopefully will always be happy in the future.  I've been busy with school and baking lately and I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything for quite a while.  This is going to be a short one I think.  I've been experimenting with making cupcake decoration lately but not enough I guess.  So, during the time that I was experimenting, my sister in law asked me to make cupcakes for her office collegue.  It was her birthday and my sister asked me to do red and white theme.  I googled around and came out with this.

Sorry about the photo not being very interesting haha..I was in a hurry because I have to deliver it before 8.00 p.m and I was running late.  Do you like it? The birthday girl loves it and I'm so glad I made someone happy that day.  It made my day.  Well, thats about it, see you soon. Bye.

Sweet Chocolate Chips

Hello and good morning everyone.

I love my mornings here at my mom's.  Yes, I'm already here.  It was a long drive yesterday with too many cars on the road and we made it safely.  I just had my most peaceful morning walk with the mist still clinging to the ground.  I feel like walking on the clouds.  It is beautiful here in the morning.  Last night it rained heavily and the ground is wet and I love the smell of it.  Like the grass after being mowed. The air is a whole lot fresher here and I can hear all kind of birds doing their morning calls. Boy..I've never noticed this when I was growing up.  Now, I love it.  Its very peaceful...I'm indulging myself in the beauty of the present and I want to share it with you.
Okay, back to business, before I drove here, I baked my mom some cupcakes.  I made Chocolate Chips Cupcake and because I love the caramel that I did for my chocolate cupcake, I made Caramel Buttercream to go with my Chocolate Chips Cupcake.  Have to wait for the caramel to cool a bit before beating it with the butter.

The recipe is fairly easy too because I improvised the recipe for the Chocolate Cupcake and made it vanilla with chocolate chips.  The buttercream is very tasty and for those who love caramel you should try it.  The cupcakes made the long drive and when it got here, it still looked like in the picture.  My mom loved it and so does my youngest brother.  He asked my mom if she could bake it next time.  You know what my mom said?   Not in a million years..those days of baking are behind me.  But that's okay, my mom collected recipes and she is a good cook and I have her small recipe book where she write notes at the side of the recipes.  But I think I got my talent from my dear Papa, god rest his soul, who was an extraordinary cook.  He just loved to cook and he taught me how.  I missed him.  I wished he's here to see me do what I love and blogging about it now.  Sorry for being sappy, I'm so at home right now and I wished everyone is here.  Okay, here are some more pictures.  I hope you are enjoying yourself as I am and I see you soon.

Bye and have a nice day.

Sweet Salted Caramel

Good morning,

How did you sleep? Okay?  I'm so used to waking up early that I woke up at 6 as usual.  Thought of sleeping in but my mind is busy and I simply had to get up and do something.  It was raining when I woke and it is still drizzling.  My favourite kind of morning.  I love it when it rain.  Everyone is sleeping in and I am at peace.  The boys are still sleeping so I can make my salted caramel as in Martha Stewart's recipe in peace and quiet.  I promise them to make some cake pops later and I think today I'm going to let them do it on their own and mess up my kitchen just to get their loads of energy off.

Tadaa....so how is my Chocolate Salted Caramel Cupcake? You like it?  I likeee it a lot.  Last night I baked the cupcakes and this morning they taste great.  Moist and very chocolatey...yum.  The cupcake is super easy to do.  I made the caramel as in the recipe but I don't have a thermometer so I relied on my eyes and nose...hahaha..and you better believe it, it turned out marvelous.  And I have to hand it to Martha, the salted caramel is delicious.  I'm so glad I woke up early and made it.  It is worth the effort...thank you Martha.  I love you.  I'm going to make another batch for my mom.  I am going to see her on Tuesday and she is five hours drive from here.  Its been months that I last saw her and my youngest sister.  Miss them and miss all my siblings, all nine of them.  If everyone came back to my mom's at the same time, usually its chaotic and my mom is going to go nuts with all her grandchildrens running around.  I miss those time.  Everyone is so busy now that we don't spend enough time together.  Can't wait to see my mom.  Okay, my boys are up so I'm off and I hope you enjoy the pictures.  You can find the recipe in Martha Stewart but just in case I'll post it for you later okay.  See you soon..

The Chocolate Salted Caramel without the buttercream frosting is yummy enough.  I love it just like that.  My husband had it for breakfast and he said it is his favourite so far.  It must be real good..

Have a nice and sweet Sunday!

My sweet fondant cupcakes..

Good evening you all...I hope everyone is happy.  It rained again today and was very windy that the tent that my hubby put up outside was carried away but luckily not very far.  It was a close call.  Aiman and Hilmi were playing out front at that time.  I'm so glad no one was hurt.  Well...I've posted my very recent cupcake.  It was a Marbled Cupcake with fondant and sugar paste flowers.  That was the first time I made flowers from sugar paste and I'm quite proud of myself.  I found a very good book on how to make sugar paste flowers.  The title is 20 To Make Sugar Flowers by Lisa Slatter.  The descriptions and illustrations in the book was very clear and I found it easy to follow.  So, here is the products.  Hope you like it....
